Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana: The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2025, during his Independence Day speech, is a transformative employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at creating over 3.5 crore jobs by July 2027. With a budget of ₹99,446 crore, this Central Sector Scheme supports first-time employees and employers, particularly in the manufacturing sector, by offering financial incentives of up to ₹15,000 for employees and ₹3,000 per month for employers. This article explores the scheme’s benefits, eligibility, and application process, empowering youth and businesses to contribute to a Viksit Bharat.
Key Features of PMVBRY
The PMVBRY is divided into two components:
- Part A: Support for First-Time Employees
First-time employees registered with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and earning a monthly salary of up to ₹1 lakh are eligible for a one-time incentive of up to ₹15,000, equivalent to one month’s EPF wage. This amount is disbursed in two instalments: 50% after six months of continuous employment and the remaining after 12 months, upon completing an online financial literacy course. This support aids newcomers in their initial learning phase and promotes financial discipline. - Part B: Employer Incentives
Employers creating new jobs between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027, receive monthly incentives of up to ₹3,000 per new employee for two years (extended to four years for manufacturing establishments). The incentive structure is:- ₹1,000/month for employees earning up to ₹10,000.
- ₹2,000/month for employees earning ₹10,001–₹20,000.
- ₹3,000/month for employees earning up to ₹30,000. Employers with fewer than 50 employees must hire at least two new workers, while those with 50 or more must hire five to qualify.
